giving respect to a humanitarian

We decided to give an opinion today about something other than politics. Tomorrow there will be a great deal to talk about in the world of politics. Today though we decided to talk about each of our own duty to give to the world we live in. After witnessing a PBS program for Roberto Clemente this entry is dedicated to the great humanitarian who happened also to be a Baseball legend. While watching the story of Roberto Clemente it became apparent that the greatest thing any of us can do is to passionately support our fellow man. Mr. Clemente was the epitome of a great states man. In a time when it seems that most of our sports heroes are known for their misgivings off the field, it is amazing to think about a figure who transcended sports. In 1972 Roberto Clemente boarded a plane with supplies for an earth shattering earthquake relief in Nicaragua. His plane was lost at sea. He died not as a baseball hero but as a good Samaritan. This week we also witnessed the end of the Oprah, "Big Give" Program. Everyone should take the time to find out how they can help someone less fortunate than themselves and lend your support to them. How do you give back to the world? What is it that you can show, give, do, say, etc. that will make a difference in the sight of all humanity that will give credence to your existence hear on earth for all generations to come? Leave your comments and remember to be honest. This is truly spin less opinion!
